Alison Perry is a Licensed Professional Counselor and the Founder of Central Oregon Veterans Ranch. She began working with veterans after her brother deployed for the invasion of Iraq in 2003 as an Apache helicopter pilot. She worked as a trauma therapist for the Department of Veterans Affairs in both Portland and Bend for six years, witnessing the challenges of both urban and rural veterans diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. She served on the PTSD Clinical Team in Portland and started the first PTSD group for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans in Central Oregon in 2008. Her final six months with the VA were as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR) helping the VA to establish contracts for Emergency Transitional Housing programs for homeless vets. She has worked on federal grants and contracts since leaving the VA in 2012 and served as the Executive Director of a veterans’ housing nonprofit 2012-2013.  Alison has been the Executive Director of COVR since 2015.
