Chuck is a retired Navy Officer whose career spanned 36 years. He achieved the rank of Captain. During that period he served in various sea and shore assignments.  He served a combat tour in Vietnam from 1965 to 1968.  The last four years of his career he served as the commander of two different major Navy Shore commands.  These commands comprised a headquarters staff of over 100 people, 10 or more separate supporting commands, and a several million-dollar budget.  He served two terms on the Secretary of the Navy’s Personal Policy Board.  He retired in 1985.  Following retirement he served as the Director of Administration of a large center city church in Seattle.  In May he assumed the position of Director of Ministry development for the North and West areas of the Western Pacific.  This was with the Association of Christian Conference and Services. In 1998 he and wife Carol moved to the Bend area.  He and Carol served 5 tours on the hospitality committee of the Sunriver Citizens Council.  In 2009 Chuck was elected to the Board of Elders of the First Presbyterian Church of Seattle.  At same time he was appointed to the Board of the Central Oregon Military Officers of America Association.  He also served a two-year term as President.  He and his wife are active in statewide programs.
