Joe had a 38 year career in higher education management at both Stanford and the University of California. His positions included: Assistant Dean for Administration and Finance at the University of California in San Francisco School of Dentistry, Director of Business and Finance in the Energy and Enivironment Divison at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, Associate Director at the Stanford University Libraries and the Business Manager of the Electrical Engineering Department at Stanford.  Joe closed out the last five years of his career as the Vice President for Business and Fiscal Affairs at St. Patrick’s Seminary and University in Menlo Park, California.  Joe served on the Board of the National Council of Research Administrators in Washington, D.C. and on the Boards of Improvworks, Bend Golf and Country Club and Stanford Golf Club, Temple Beth Tikvat. He also Chaired the Business Officers sections of the American Association of Dental Schools and The Association of Theological Schools.  Joe is a retired Naval Reserve Officer and a Vietnam veteran. During his Reserve years, Joe served for seven years as a management consultant to the Commander in Chief of the Pacific Fleet.  Joe and his wife, Leslie, have lived in central Oregon since 2004 and they are both active in the Bend community.
